SEO Services

Practical SEO support for clearer Google visibility, stronger local SEO and better AI search visibility.

30 years’ web experience. Direct implementation. Clear commercial priorities.

SEO work that gets implemented

SEO should not end with a report and a list of jobs for somebody else. I review what is happening, decide what deserves attention and carry out the agreed technical, structural and content work myself.

Results depend on more than rankings. The website needs to be technically sound, explain the offer clearly and give the right visitor a sensible reason to enquire. That can mean WordPress development, service-page copy, internal links, local SEO or conversion improvements as well as conventional SEO work.

The aim is useful visibility and better enquiries, not activity added simply to fill a monthly report.

Why SEO often stalls

SEO rarely stalls because one magic tactic is missing. More often, several smaller problems are working against each other and need fixing in the right order.

  • Important pages do not properly answer the searches most likely to produce an enquiry.
  • Crawling, indexing, speed or mobile faults make useful pages harder to find or use.
  • Service pages are vague, repetitive or short on the evidence a potential customer needs.
  • Supporting content and internal links do little to strengthen the pages that matter.
  • Local business information, mentions and authority signals are weak or inconsistent.
  • Reports list rankings and traffic, but nobody owns the next useful website change.

What the SEO support covers

The work usually falls into connected areas. The balance depends on the condition of the website, the market and what the available evidence is showing.

Technical SEO

  • Crawling and indexing
  • Canonicals and redirects
  • Website structure
  • Speed and technical quality
  • Structured data where useful
  • WordPress implementation faults

Content and service pages

  • Search intent analysis
  • Service-page improvement
  • Supporting articles
  • Internal linking and consolidation
  • Titles and search snippets
  • Case-study evidence

Local visibility and authority

  • Google Business Profile guidance
  • Service and location consistency
  • Useful local landing pages
  • Relevant citations and mentions
  • Credible authority opportunities

Measurement and conversion

  • Search Console and analytics
  • Landing-page performance
  • Enquiry journeys
  • Conversion tracking
  • Lead-quality review

This is not a fixed checklist. Each month or project focuses on the work most likely to make a useful difference.

SEO, local search and AI answers now overlap

SEO still has to support traditional Google searches and local searches, but websites also need to be clear enough for answer-style systems and AI-generated summaries to understand. That does not mean chasing tricks or claiming guaranteed AI citations.

It means making the provider, services, service areas, evidence and useful pages easier to interpret. Search systems need to understand what you do, where you work, who you help, what proof you have and which pages are the best sources.

Google still matters

Technical quality, useful pages, internal links and clear search intent still matter because Google remains the starting point for many buyers.

Local context matters

Local SEO needs consistent service, location and evidence signals without turning every page into repetitive place-name copy.

AI search needs clarity

AI search visibility depends on clear content, structured information and evidence that can be summarised without guesswork.

Audit, project or monthly SEO support?

These are different types of work. The right choice depends on whether you need clear answers, a defined change or continued improvement.

SEO audit

A defined review that identifies what is wrong and puts the recommended work into a sensible order.

  • Technical and content findings
  • Clear priorities
  • Implementation scoped separately

One-off SEO project

A focused piece of work with an agreed scope, a defined outcome and a clear finish point.

  • Migration or technical clean-up
  • Service or location structure
  • Defined page improvements

SEO services by location

This hub links to the local SEO service pages where I have created more specific guidance for the main areas I support. The pages are there to explain local context, not to claim fake offices or repeat the same copy with a different place name.

How the work is handled

  1. Understand the business. I review what the business needs to sell, which enquiries matter and how the website is currently performing.
  2. Set the next priorities. Search opportunity, commercial value and practical constraints determine what comes first.
  3. Make the agreed changes. I handle the technical, structural or content work directly wherever access and scope allow.
  4. Check the effect. I review performance, test the affected pages and separate useful evidence from short-term noise.
  5. Report what matters. You see what was done, why it was prioritised, what happened and what should come next.
  6. Adjust the plan. The next step follows the evidence, the condition of the website and what the business needs most.

Direct access to the person doing the work

I plan and carry out the work myself. You are not passed from a salesperson to an account manager and then to somebody you never speak to. I agree anything outside the scope before charging for it and say when another specialist would be the better choice.

Proof, measurement and clear boundaries

SEO results rarely come from one isolated change. Better structure, useful content, sound development and clear measurement need to work together.

Evidence before assumptions

I use the website, Search Console, analytics where available, service pages and local search context to decide what needs attention first.

Clear limits and honest reporting

Nobody controls Google’s rankings or AI-generated answers. My job is to improve the website, its relevance, technical quality and supporting evidence, then report honestly on what changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do SEO services include?

SEO support can include technical SEO checks, content structure, service-page improvement, internal linking, local SEO, measurement and practical implementation. The exact mix depends on the website, the market and the work most likely to improve useful visibility and enquiries.

Is this local SEO, technical SEO or AI search work?

It can include all three where they matter. A strong website still needs to be crawlable, useful and clear for Google, but it also needs consistent service, location and evidence signals that help local search and AI-generated answer systems understand the business.

Do you work with businesses outside Guildford?

Yes. I am based in Guildford and work with established businesses across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Essex, Kent and the wider UK. The location pages linked from this hub explain the main local SEO service areas.

How long does SEO take to work?

There is no fixed timetable. Some technical or content improvements can be recognised quickly, while competitive searches usually need sustained work. I report what has changed, what remains uncertain and what should happen next.

Do you guarantee rankings or AI citations?

No. Search rankings and AI-generated citations are outside any consultant’s control. The work is designed to improve the quality, clarity and evidence of the website so it has a stronger chance of being understood, trusted and chosen.

Is monthly SEO always the right choice?

No. Sometimes a defined audit or one-off project is the better first step. Monthly SEO is useful when search is an ongoing channel and the site needs regular judgement, implementation and measurement.

Can you improve a website you did not build?

Usually, yes. I first review the platform, access, technical condition and risks. If the website limits safe or effective implementation, I explain the options before making changes.

How much do SEO services cost in the UK?

Cost varies according to competition, the condition of the website, content requirements, technical work and the amount of implementation involved. I review the current position and agree a clear scope before quoting.

Is an SEO audit included?

The starting review identifies priorities for the monthly service. A formal SEO audit is a separate defined project with its own scope. I will explain which approach makes sense before work begins.

Do you write and update website content?

Yes, where content work is part of the agreed scope. This may involve improving service pages, refreshing useful existing content or creating focused supporting articles.
