Experienced delivery support without adding permanent overhead

Freelance Web and SEO Support for Agencies

WordPress, SEO and technical support for agencies that need a reliable freelance partner for defined client work, overflow capacity or white-label delivery.

30 years’ experience. Direct communication. Your client relationship and working rules remain clear.

An agency partner should reduce delivery risk rather than create another layer to manage

Agencies often need extra capacity at the point where a client has already been promised a deadline. The support has to be technically capable, commercially aware and able to work inside the agency’s process without competing for the relationship.

I work with agencies on defined WordPress builds, development, SEO implementation, technical investigation and related website work. The arrangement can be visible, white-label or entirely behind the scenes, but that decision is made before client communication begins.

I am a freelance specialist, not a hidden team. You know who is doing the work and who is responsible for the agreed delivery.

SupportWordPress builds, development, SEO implementation and technical problem-solving
EngagementFixed project, overflow capacity, day rate or agreed retained block
Standard rate£45 per hour or £360 per day where project pricing is not used
Client contactOnly with the agency’s approval and under agreed communication rules
ConfidentialityNDA and white-label arrangements available where appropriate
Best fitEstablished agencies with a clear brief, decision-maker and delivery process

A quick conversation can establish availability and fit. Reviewing a client site, diagnosing a technical problem, estimating an unclear build or preparing a solution is paid work unless explicitly included in a confirmed project.

The difficult part of outsourcing is usually responsibility, not technical vocabulary

A freelancer can know WordPress and still be difficult to use if deadlines, client communication, scope and handover are treated casually.

What agencies need to avoid

  • Promises made before the technical requirement has been checked
  • Client contact that bypasses or weakens the agency relationship
  • Unrecorded changes that turn a fixed project into open-ended support
  • Silence when a deadline or dependency is at risk
  • Work that looks finished but is difficult for the agency to maintain

What a dependable arrangement provides

  • A named person responsible for the agreed work
  • Clear estimates, assumptions, exclusions and dependencies
  • Communication through the agreed agency contact
  • Early warning when access, content or decisions are blocking delivery
  • A practical handover that leaves the agency in control

Support can fit around the part of delivery your agency wants to retain

The work is modular. I do not need to take over the whole account to solve a defined delivery problem.

WordPress design and development

Bespoke or structured WordPress builds, theme and template work, ACF, page-builder implementation and technical improvements.

SEO implementation

Technical fixes, on-page improvements, content structure, internal linking and practical implementation behind an agency strategy.

Technical diagnosis and repair

Paid investigation of WordPress, hosting, forms, performance or code issues before a repair scope is agreed.

Retained delivery support

A defined block of capacity for agencies with recurring work, clear priorities and a realistic forward view of demand.

I can work inside an existing design system and development process or take responsibility for a clearly defined technical section. What matters is that the handoff points, approval rights and definition of complete are understood before delivery pressure increases.

The strongest agency relationships have clear ownership on both sides

I work best when the agency has a responsible contact, protects the brief and is prepared to make client decisions rather than forwarding every message without context.

A strong fit

  • The agency can define the deliverable and the client promise
  • Access, content and approvals are organised
  • The working relationship and communication route are agreed
  • Commercial changes are confirmed before extra work starts
  • The agency values reliable delivery over the lowest possible rate

Not a strong fit

  • The expectation is unpaid proposals, speculative builds or hidden pitch work
  • Several people can change the brief without one owner
  • Direct client access is required but the rules are unclear
  • The agency expects permanent availability without reserved capacity
  • The project must be delivered using unsupported or unsafe methods

The agency remains responsible for the overall client promise unless the agreement says otherwise. I remain responsible for the work I accept. That separation prevents assumptions from becoming urgent unpaid tasks at the end of a project.

Published delivery work is shown honestly, without pretending it was all white-label

These case studies demonstrate WordPress, SEO and commercial website delivery. They are not presented as agency engagements unless that is explicitly stated.

LAN Support

A restrictive website was rebuilt into a flexible WordPress platform with stronger editing freedom and a clearer customer journey.

CMI Technology

A rebrand, bespoke WordPress build, catalogue structure and SEO foundations were delivered as one coordinated project.

White-label work is often confidential. I will not invent client names or quotations to fill that gap. References or relevant examples can be discussed when permission and context allow.

A simple working process protects the agency, freelancer and client

1. Define the delivery needYou explain the client context, required output, deadline, agency responsibilities and whether I will have any direct contact.
2. Check fit and accessI confirm availability, review the information needed for an estimate and identify paid discovery where the requirement is not yet clear.
3. Agree scope and working rulesThe project, rate, assumptions, exclusions, communication route, ownership and handover are recorded before work begins.
4. Deliver in visible stagesWork is completed against agreed checkpoints so the agency can review progress and manage the client relationship.
5. Test and resolve agreed issuesThe relevant pages, devices, forms, code or SEO changes are checked before the work is presented as complete.
6. Handover and continue where neededFiles, access notes and outstanding points are returned to the agency. Further work or retained support is agreed separately.

The commercial arrangement should be clear before capacity is reserved

I can work on a fixed project, a defined block of time or a retained arrangement. The right method depends on how stable the brief is and how much capacity the agency genuinely needs.

Available pricing approaches

  • £45 per hour for suitable small or open-ended tasks
  • £360 per day for defined delivery or technical work
  • Fixed project pricing where the deliverable and review process are clear
  • Retained blocks where capacity and priorities are agreed in advance
  • Paid discovery when a client problem must be investigated before it can be estimated

Commercial boundaries

  • No unpaid speculative production or disguised pitch work
  • No unlimited revisions or support outside the agreement
  • No direct client work that bypasses the agency
  • No responsibility for promises I did not review or approve
  • No guaranteed rankings, enquiries, delivery dates dependent on missing inputs or permanent availability

A retainer reserves the capacity described in the agreement. It does not create an unlimited queue or transfer ownership of every client problem to me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work completely white-label?

Yes, where the scope, communication and ownership rules are agreed. I will not contact or market to the agency’s client outside that arrangement.

Can you speak directly to our client?

Yes, when the agency wants that and the role is clear. I can join as a technical specialist or delivery partner without changing who owns the account.

What WordPress work can you handle?

I can support builds, templates, ACF, page builders, custom functionality, technical fixes, performance work and ongoing development where the existing setup is supportable.

Can you provide SEO support behind our strategy?

Yes. I can implement technical, on-page, content-structure and internal-linking work, or take responsibility for a separately agreed SEO scope.

Do you sign NDAs?

I can review and sign a reasonable NDA. Confidentiality does not remove the need for a clear scope, lawful access and practical record-keeping.

How quickly can you start?

Availability depends on current commitments and the size of the request. Urgent work is accepted only when the access, decisions and deadline are realistic.

Can we reserve regular capacity?

Yes. A retained block can reserve defined capacity and priorities. Unused time, rollover and response expectations must be stated in the agreement.

Who owns the completed work?

Ownership and licensing follow the written agreement and payment terms. Third-party software, fonts, plugins and licences remain subject to their own conditions.
