About Neil Patmore

I help established businesses improve websites that should be doing more, and diagnose AI-built sites that are not ready for real business use.

30 years of hands-on web development, SEO and digital problem-solving.

You’ll deal with me from the first conversation onwards

I’ve spent 30 years building and improving websites. Today, that experience covers WordPress, technical SEO, content, conversion, AI search visibility and diagnosing AI-built sites.

You’ll deal with me throughout. I’ll understand what the website needs to achieve, identify what is getting in the way and make sure the agreed work is handled properly from start to finish.

I’m based in Guildford and work with businesses across the UK. The right project is defined by the problem, the business and whether my experience is useful.

My role is often broader than a single design or SEO task. A website may need clearer positioning, stronger service pages, development fixes and better measurement at the same time. Looking at those connections helps me recommend practical work that makes sense as a whole.

Experience only matters if it stays current

Thirty years in this work is useful only if the work stays current. I remain closely involved in how websites are built, diagnosed and improved. That now includes AI search visibility and the practical problems behind AI-built sites, alongside WordPress, technical SEO, content and conversion.

Platforms and trends have changed repeatedly, but many failures still come back to unclear thinking, weak foundations or systems that do not work together. Knowing those patterns helps me judge what is genuinely useful and what is an old problem in a new wrapper.

I continue learning, testing and building because current judgement comes from doing the work now, not relying on how websites worked years ago.

What I do now

Most of my work sits in three connected areas. The balance depends on what already exists and what the business needs the website to do next.

Websites that should be doing more

I design, rebuild and improve websites that no longer support the business properly.

  • Clearer positioning and service journeys
  • Sound WordPress and technical foundations
  • More useful enquiry and conversion paths

Monthly SEO and content work

I improve search visibility by joining strategy to the website work needed to put it into practice.

  • Technical and on-page improvements
  • Service pages, useful content and internal links
  • Measurement and priorities based on evidence

AI-built website diagnosis and repair

I assess AI-built websites that look promising but are not yet ready for dependable business use.

  • Code, forms, integrations and mobile behaviour
  • SEO, accessibility, performance and maintainability
  • Clear repair, restructure or rebuild decisions

AI can build quickly. It does not remove the need for technical judgement.

AI website tools can help founders, teams and agencies turn an idea into a working first version quickly. The next question is whether that version is ready to support a real business.

  • Forms and integrations must work outside the demonstration flow.
  • Mobile layouts, accessibility and performance still need checking.
  • Generated code must be secure, maintainable and suitable for its hosting.
  • Search engines and AI systems still need clear, useful and technically accessible content.

I inspect the actual site, separate surface polish from underlying quality and explain whether focused repair, a planned restructure or a rebuild is the sensible route. Not every AI-built site is broken, and not every problem needs a rebuild. This AI website repair case study on AIWebsiteRepair.com shows how precise diagnosis can avoid replacing a whole system unnecessarily.

Why clients work with me

  • Direct access. You speak with the person who understands the brief, oversees the work and remains responsible for its quality.
  • Joined-up experience. I understand how development, design, SEO, content and conversion affect one another.
  • Practical implementation. I can make the agreed changes as well as explain what needs attention.
  • Current technical understanding. My work includes the real problems behind AI-built websites as well as established platforms.
  • Clear advice. Decisions, priorities and trade-offs are explained in plain English.
  • Honest boundaries. Scope, risks and costs are discussed before extra work begins.
  • No unnecessary work. I do not add tasks simply to make a project or report look busy.
  • Specialist referral. I will say when another discipline or provider is the better fit.

Selected work and verified results

I use published project evidence rather than anonymous claims. These examples show the range of work, from lead generation to website structure and bespoke systems.

LAN Support

Problem: An inflexible website prevented the team from adding useful pages and improving the customer journey.

Work: A flexible WordPress rebuild with clearer structure and conversion-focused recommendations.

Result: The team gained editing control, an SEO-ready foundation and a clearer route to enquiry.

Epsilon Lighting

Problem: Paper-based scheduling, project, invoice and purchase-order processes were restricting the business.

Work: A custom web application built around the company’s real workflow.

Result: Centralised information, less duplicated administration and better visibility across active projects.

Who I am a good fit for

The strongest working relationships start with a clear business problem, realistic expectations and a willingness to improve the site itself.

A good fit

  • Established businesses whose websites should contribute more
  • Owners and teams who value direct advice and implementation
  • Organisations with a real service, market and objective
  • Businesses needing an experienced external web or SEO specialist
  • Agencies requiring technical support or AI website repair
  • Founders who have reached the practical limits of an AI builder

Probably not the right fit

  • Projects decided only by the lowest price
  • Unlimited work expected for a fixed low fee
  • Guaranteed-ranking demands
  • Businesses unwilling to improve the website itself
  • Work that needs a large, multi-department agency team

How we work together

1

Initial conversation.

We establish the business goal, the visible problem and whether my experience is likely to help.

2

Defined review or discovery.

Where proper diagnosis or planning is needed, I define the review or discovery work and its cost before beginning.

3

Agreed scope and priorities.

We agree what is included, what matters first, the timescale and what each of us needs to provide.

4

Implementation and oversight.

I remain your main point of contact, keep communication clear and take responsibility for decisions and the quality of the finished work.

5

Review, measure and refine.

I quality-check the work, review what changed and measure results where useful data exists. We agree any refinement before moving into ongoing support.

6

Continued support when useful.

One-off work can end after delivery. Monthly support continues only while it remains useful, with next steps based on business need rather than an automatic contract extension.

A quick surface look can help qualify an enquiry, but it is not a free audit. Proper diagnosis, discovery and implementation are separately scoped and paid where required.
