Paid technical review before repair, release or further development
AI Code Review Service
Find out whether AI-generated or AI-assisted website code is reliable enough to keep, safe enough to use and clear enough for another developer to maintain.
Defined scope. Practical findings. Code changes quoted separately.
Working code is not the same as dependable code
AI coding tools can produce a convincing feature quickly, but the finished screen does not show how the code handles invalid input, unexpected data, failed integrations, future changes or a second developer trying to understand it. A review looks beneath the output before more time and money are built on top of it.
I review the agreed code in context. That may include WordPress customisations, front-end scripts, integrations, forms, APIs or a wider AI-assisted application. The aim is not to criticise every stylistic choice. It is to identify the weaknesses that create real business, security or maintenance risk.
A quick look at a public page can help qualify the enquiry. Reading code, reproducing behaviour, tracing dependencies and reaching technical conclusions are paid review work.
The review separates visible behaviour from the condition of the code
A feature can appear successful in one demonstration and still fail when the data, browser, user role or third-party service changes. The useful question is not only whether it works now, but whether the implementation can be trusted and changed safely.
What a demonstration can show
- The intended user journey and visible output
- Whether the main path appears to work
- Which platform or framework is involved
- The broad feature that needs reviewing
What a paid code review can establish
- How the logic is structured and where it is fragile
- Whether validation, error handling and permissions are adequate
- Which dependencies or repeated patterns create technical debt
- What should be corrected before release or further development
- Whether targeted refactoring or replacement is the safer option
The scope focuses on the code that matters to the decision
A useful review is bounded. It identifies the repositories, files, features and risks being examined rather than presenting an unlimited promise to certify an entire system.
Reliability and error handling
I check how the code responds to failed requests, missing data, invalid input, duplicate actions and other conditions outside the ideal demonstration path.
Maintainability and structure
I look for repeated logic, tightly coupled components, unclear naming, dead code and changes that are likely to create faults elsewhere.
Inputs, permissions and data
I review the agreed handling of forms, user input, roles, secrets, data flows and access decisions for practical weaknesses that require attention.
Dependencies and integrations
I identify external services, packages, plugins and APIs that affect reliability, ownership, updates or the ability to maintain the feature later.
Automated analysis may support individual checks, but a tool score does not decide whether the code is commercially sensible or safe to extend.
Use a code review when the code itself is the question
This service is narrower than a full website audit and different from general repair. It is most useful when you already know which code, feature or integration needs an experienced technical review.
A good fit
- AI-generated code is about to be released or handed over
- A feature works inconsistently or breaks under edge cases
- Another developer needs to inherit an unclear codebase
- A business-critical form or integration needs inspection
- Repeated prompt-led changes have made the structure hard to follow
A different service may be better
- The website has several connected content, SEO and technical problems
- The main issue is user experience or conversion rather than code
- The site needs formal penetration testing or compliance certification
- The question is whether the whole website should be repaired or rebuilt
- You need implementation immediately but have no diagnosis or reproducible fault
Where the problem is wider than the code, I will recommend the paid AI Website Audit rather than stretching a code review beyond its purpose.
Evidence comes from real website and development work, not anonymous quotations
I do not have a published AI-builder code-review case study that proves a particular outcome for every platform. The relevant evidence is my wider record of building, extending and repairing business websites and bespoke systems over three decades.
The published projects below are not AI code-review case studies. They show the practical approach I bring to website structure, development decisions and long-term maintainability.
Jet Washing Farnham
A new local business needed a website planned around real services and search intent, with a clear route from discovery to enquiry.
LAN Support
A restrictive website was rebuilt on a flexible WordPress structure so useful pages could be added and the customer journey could be improved.
For more background, read about my experience. I will describe uncertainty plainly and will not replace missing proof with an invented quote.
The review produces decisions rather than an unstructured list of comments
The review does not quietly become an implementation project. Any code changes are scoped and agreed after the findings.
Price depends on the codebase, access and the question being answered
A single WordPress function, a custom integration and a multi-page application are different review jobs. I price the defined scope after understanding the platform, repository, dependencies, documentation and test access.
The agreed deliverable may be a concise findings document for a small feature or a more detailed technical review for a larger code area. You know what will be reviewed and what you will receive before access is requested.
Included when named in scope
- Review of the agreed code and dependencies
- Practical reliability and maintainability findings
- Relevant input, permission and error-handling checks
- Prioritised risks and recommended next steps
- A separate implementation route where appropriate
Not included automatically
- Unlimited review of an entire unscoped system
- Repair, refactoring or new development
- Formal penetration testing
- Legal or regulatory compliance certification
- Guaranteed absence of every defect or future vulnerability
- Third-party licence, hosting or specialist fees
A code review reduces uncertainty. It cannot guarantee that software contains no defects, particularly outside the agreed files, environments and test conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I receive from the AI code review?
You receive the agreed findings covering reliability, maintainability, practical security concerns, dependencies and priority actions. The exact format and level of detail are confirmed before the review starts.
Do you need access to the source code?
Usually, yes. A meaningful code review normally requires the repository or relevant files, plus enough platform and test access to understand how the code is used. Access requirements are agreed before work begins.
Can you review code from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another AI tool?
Yes. The original tool matters less than the language, framework, dependencies and way the code has been integrated. I review the implementation that exists rather than trying to judge the prompt history.
Is fixing the code included?
No. The review identifies and prioritises the problems. Refactoring, repair, replacement or further development is a separate paid phase that you can commission after seeing the findings.
Is this a security penetration test?
No. I review practical security concerns within the agreed code scope, but formal penetration testing follows a different methodology and may require a dedicated security specialist.
Can you guarantee the code has no defects?
No. A review reduces known risk within the agreed scope and evidence available. It cannot prove that every possible defect, vulnerability or future integration problem has been removed.
What happens if the code should be replaced rather than repaired?
I will explain why replacement is the safer or more economical option and identify which parts, data or integrations can reasonably be retained. I will not recommend refactoring simply to preserve poor foundations.
Can you work with my existing developer or agency?
Yes. The findings can support an internal team, agency or another developer. The scope should identify who needs the output and whether a technical handover discussion is required.

Review the code before more work depends on it
Explain what the feature does, how it was created and why you are concerned. I will define the code, access, deliverable and price before the proper review begins.
