Paid diagnosis before repair, optimisation or rebuild

AI Website Audit

Find out what is wrong, what is causing it, whether the website is repairable and which work deserves attention first.

A defined paid review. Plain-English findings. Implementation quoted separately.

A proper audit answers the questions that a quick look cannot

An AI-built website can look convincing while important problems remain hidden in forms, mobile behaviour, page structure, code, hosting or the way services are explained. The audit is paid diagnostic work designed to replace guesswork with evidence.

You work directly with me throughout. I agree what needs investigating, inspect the agreed areas and explain the findings without using an automated score as a substitute for judgement.

ServicePaid diagnostic review of an AI-built website
ProviderNeil Patmore, freelance WordPress designer and developer
OutputFindings, likely causes, repairability and prioritised next steps
CoverageContent, SEO, forms, mobile, performance and maintainability as scoped
Best fitA site with unclear, multiple or potentially connected problems
ImplementationQuoted separately after you receive the diagnosis

The qualification call is not the audit. Access, testing, diagnosis and written conclusions begin only after the scope and price are agreed.

The visible symptom is not always the root cause

A form that appears broken may involve JavaScript, email delivery, permissions or a third-party service. A page that does not rank may have weak content, poor internal links, a canonical problem or no genuine search demand. A slow site may be limited by code, images, scripts or hosting.

A quick glance can identify

  • The platform and broad page structure
  • Obvious visual or content concerns
  • Whether the enquiry appears suitable
  • Which access may be required for a proper review

A paid audit can establish

  • What is actually wrong in the agreed areas
  • The most likely cause and supporting evidence
  • Whether repair is viable and proportionate
  • What should be fixed first and what can wait
  • Which work belongs in a separate specialist scope

The value of the audit is the decision it supports, not the number of issues that can be listed.

The scope is built around the website and the decision you need to make

Not every audit requires every check. The written scope identifies the questions that matter and prevents a small engagement turning into unlimited investigation.

Business and content

Offer clarity, service-page structure, evidence, calls to action and whether the website gives the right visitor a sensible reason to enquire.

SEO foundations

Crawlability, indexation, titles, headings, internal links, canonical signals and whether important pages match genuine services and search intent.

Forms and customer actions

Important enquiry routes, mobile usability, confirmation behaviour and the dependencies that could cause leads to be lost.

Technical condition

Theme or builder structure, scripts, plugins, integrations, performance bottlenecks and whether the site can be changed safely.

Security checks are practical and limited to the agreed website scope. They are not a formal penetration test.

You receive answers that can be used to commission the next phase

The findings explain

  • The issue and where it appears
  • The evidence supporting the conclusion
  • The likely technical or commercial cause
  • The impact on users, search or maintainability

The recommendation explains

  • Whether the site is repairable
  • Which work is urgent, useful or optional
  • Whether repair, optimisation, SEO or rebuild is appropriate
  • Which items require another specialist
  • What should be scoped separately

The report is written so that you can use it with me or another suitable developer. Paying for diagnosis does not commit you to commissioning the implementation from me.

Use published evidence rather than anonymous AI website testimonials

I do not have a published AI-builder case study that proves a specific repair, ranking or conversion result, so this page does not pretend otherwise. The useful evidence is my wider record of planning, building, repairing and improving real business websites over three decades.

The two published projects below are not AI-builder case studies. They show how I combine website structure, content, SEO and practical implementation rather than handing over a generic report.

Jet Washing Farnham

A new local business needed a website planned around real services and search intent, with a clear route from discovery to enquiry.

LAN Support

A restrictive website was rebuilt on a flexible WordPress structure so useful pages could be added and the customer journey could be improved.

For more background, read about my experience. I will describe uncertainty plainly and will not replace missing proof with an invented quote.

The audit follows a defined sequence rather than an open-ended search

1. Set the questionsWe agree what the audit needs to determine and which areas are outside scope.
2. Confirm access and riskI identify the systems, credentials and test conditions required without requesting more access than necessary.
3. Inspect and reproduceI review the agreed pages, actions and technical evidence, reproducing faults where that can be done safely.
4. Connect symptoms to causesThe findings separate visible effects from the likely root problems and record uncertainty where evidence is incomplete.
5. Prioritise the responseYou receive a practical order covering urgent faults, valuable improvements and items that can wait.
6. Scope implementation separatelyRepair, SEO, optimisation, rebuild or specialist security work is quoted only after the diagnosis is complete.

This protects both sides from a repair quote based on assumptions.

Price and timescale are agreed before access or investigation

The audit is priced according to the size of the website, platform, integrations, access and the number of questions it must answer. A small brochure site and a custom AI-assisted application are not the same diagnostic job.

Included when named in scope

  • Manual review of the agreed pages and actions
  • Relevant technical and commercial checks
  • Plain-English findings and priority order
  • Repairability or rebuild recommendation
  • A separate implementation route where appropriate

Not included automatically

  • Repair or code changes
  • Unlimited investigation into unrelated systems
  • Formal penetration testing
  • Legal or regulatory compliance certification
  • Third-party software or specialist fees
  • Guaranteed business or search results

Anything that changes the diagnostic questions or introduces a separate system is agreed before extra work is carried out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an AI website audit give me?

You receive a clear diagnosis of the agreed areas, the likely causes, the commercial or technical impact, the priority order and a recommendation covering repair, optimisation, SEO work or rebuild. The exact deliverable is confirmed before the audit starts.

Is this an automated score or scanner report?

No. Automated tools may support individual checks, but the audit is based on manual review, testing and judgement. A high score does not prove that forms work, services are clear or the code is safe to extend.

Is repair included in the audit price?

No. The audit provides the answers and priorities. Repair or implementation is a separate paid phase, so you can decide what to commission after seeing the findings.

How much does the audit cost?

The price depends on the platform, number of pages, integrations, access and the areas that need investigating. You receive a defined scope and price before I request access or begin the proper review.

Can you audit a site that is not live yet?

Yes. A staging or preview site can be reviewed when suitable access is available. Some checks, including real hosting behaviour, live tracking and production integrations, may need a later launch review.

Does the audit include a penetration test?

No. I check practical website security risks within the agreed scope, but a formal penetration test or specialist security assessment is a separate service and may require a dedicated security professional.

Will you tell me if the site should be rebuilt?

Yes. The report will not force repair where repair is poor value. I will explain whether the foundations are sound enough to fix, whether a partial rebuild is sensible or whether a full rebuild is safer.

What access will you need?

That depends on the scope. It may include WordPress, hosting, analytics, Search Console, repository or platform access. Access requirements and safe handling are agreed before work starts.
