Turn a polished AI draft into a clearer commercial website

AI Website Optimisation

Improve messaging, mobile journeys, trust, calls to action and page structure so visitors understand the offer and can take the next sensible step.

Defined optimisation work. Direct implementation. Traffic generation and repair remain separate unless included.

A modern-looking AI page can still make the buying decision harder

AI builders are good at producing polished sections, cards and confident-sounding copy. The commercial problem appears when every service sounds similar, proof is missing, the next step is vague or mobile visitors have to work too hard to enquire.

Optimisation improves a website that broadly functions but does not communicate or convert well. Technical faults, search projects and traffic generation remain separate unless they are included by name.

I will not invent testimonials, case studies or conversion results to make a weak page look more credible. Proof must come from the business.

The page needs to answer the customer’s questions in the right order

What often creates friction

  • The hero does not state the service clearly
  • Several audiences are addressed at the same time
  • Benefits appear without useful detail or evidence
  • Calls to action use vague labels or appear too late
  • Mobile layouts bury forms or key information
  • The page asks for contact before explaining scope or price

What a stronger page should do

  • Name the problem and the service directly
  • Show who the work is for and who it is not for
  • Explain deliverables, process and boundaries
  • Use genuine case studies or attributable evidence
  • Make the next action clear on desktop and mobile
  • Keep promises proportionate to what can be controlled

The aim is not to add more decoration. It is to remove uncertainty from the path to a useful enquiry.

Optimisation can cover the complete enquiry journey

Positioning and messaging

Clarify the main offer, audience, difference and commercial reason to choose the business without relying on generic AI language.

Page structure and proof

Reorder sections, strengthen service explanations and place genuine evidence where a visitor is most likely to hesitate.

Calls to action and forms

Make the next step specific, reduce unnecessary fields and check whether the form or booking route works across important devices.

Mobile and performance friction

Improve smaller-screen flow and address defined layout or speed issues that interrupt the journey, with technical repair scoped separately where needed.

The deliverable can focus on selected pages or a broader website journey, depending on where enquiries are being lost.

Repair, SEO and optimisation should not be bundled into one vague promise

Use repair when

A form, feature, integration or layout is broken or unstable and the cause needs diagnosing before it can be fixed.

Use SEO when

The website needs crawlability, page mapping, metadata, internal links and useful content aligned with real search demand.

Use optimisation when

The site broadly works but visitors do not understand the offer, trust the claims or complete the next useful action.

Use a rebuild when

The platform or structure cannot support the required changes safely or the cost of layering fixes is no longer proportionate.

A paid AI Website Audit is the right starting point when several of these problems overlap and the cause is unclear.

Use published evidence rather than anonymous AI website testimonials

I do not have a published AI-builder case study that proves a specific repair, ranking or conversion result, so this page does not pretend otherwise. The useful evidence is my wider record of planning, building, repairing and improving real business websites over three decades.

The two published projects below are not AI-builder case studies. They show how I combine website structure, content, SEO and practical implementation rather than handing over a generic report.

Jet Washing Farnham

A new local business needed a website planned around real services and search intent, with a clear route from discovery to enquiry.

LAN Support

A restrictive website was rebuilt on a flexible WordPress structure so useful pages could be added and the customer journey could be improved.

For more background, read about my experience. I will describe uncertainty plainly and will not replace missing proof with an invented quote.

The process begins with the business decision the page needs to support

1. Define the useful enquiryWe establish which service, audience and next action matter instead of optimising for a generic click.
2. Review the current journeyI inspect the key pages, messaging, proof, forms, mobile flow and available tracking.
3. Identify the main frictionThe review separates content and layout problems from technical faults that require repair.
4. Agree the changesThe scope names the pages, copy, components, forms or measurements that will be changed.
5. Implement and validateI make the agreed improvements and check the important journey on desktop and smaller screens.
6. Review the evidenceWhere useful data exists, I compare actions and lead quality cautiously rather than claiming certainty from small samples.

Further testing or ongoing improvement is a separate engagement unless it appears in the agreed scope.

Optimisation is scoped by pages, journeys and implementation effort

Price depends on the number of pages, quality of the existing content, technical condition, forms, tracking and how much implementation is required. A review-only engagement and a full rewrite of the commercial journey are different projects.

May be included when agreed

  • Homepage or service-page messaging
  • Page order and component changes
  • Calls to action and form improvements
  • Mobile usability checks
  • Use of genuine proof and case studies
  • Basic measurement of agreed actions

Separate unless named

  • Technical repair of unrelated faults
  • A full website rebuild
  • SEO research and ongoing search work
  • Paid traffic or campaign management
  • New photography, video or third-party software
  • Guaranteed conversion or enquiry improvement

Optimisation cannot manufacture demand or credible evidence. It can make a real offer easier to understand, trust and act on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AI website optimisation?

It is the process of improving an AI-built website after the first version exists. The work can cover messaging, page order, service explanations, calls to action, forms, mobile usability, trust, layout and speed within a defined scope.

How is optimisation different from repair?

Repair fixes diagnosed faults or unstable behaviour. Optimisation improves a website that broadly works but does not communicate or convert well. A site can need both, but the work should be scoped separately.

How is this different from SEO?

SEO focuses on crawlability, search intent, indexation, content relevance and search visibility. Optimisation focuses on what visitors understand and do on the page. The two overlap, but they are not identical.

Can you improve AI-written copy?

Yes. I can make it more specific, structured and credible, remove repetition and connect claims with useful detail. I will not invent testimonials, customer results or evidence that the business cannot support.

Do you test mobile journeys and forms?

Yes, when they are included in scope. I review the important routes on smaller screens and check whether the next step is clear. Technical faults found during optimisation may require a separate repair scope.

Do I need more traffic before optimising?

Not necessarily. Clearer pages and enquiry routes are useful before more traffic is purchased or generated. However, optimisation cannot create demand by itself, and traffic generation is not included automatically.

How do you measure improvement?

The useful measures depend on the site and available tracking. They may include form completion, booked calls, clicks on key actions, drop-off points and lead quality. Small data sets need cautious interpretation.

What if the website needs rebuilding instead?

I will say so. Optimisation is poor value when the platform, code or page structure cannot support the required changes safely. In that case, the proposal will explain the rebuild route rather than layering more fixes onto weak foundations.
