Why Is Your Computer Not Starting

It can be very frustrating to find that when you go to sit down at your computer with the hopes of getting some work done, that it just won't start. Maybe you are already thinking about all those important files you are about to lose. You may realise that you forgot to do a back up recently and now all your photos could be lost forever. Here are a few possible reasons why your computer won't start.

- Check out your monitor's brightness button. Sometimes this can be turned down by mistake and then when you go to turn on the computer, there is nothing on the screen because it is completely black.

- Listen carefully and see if you can hear the disk drive trying to work or see if any display lights are on. You can probably deduce that the problem has something to do with the power source if you do not hear anything or see any lights. It is a good idea to see if the surge protector has been triggered if you are using one. Another thing worth checking is the fuse within the plug. You could also find that a power outage is to blame.

- Some computers come with a start switch on the keyboard. That is why it is important to make sure that your keyboard is still connected to the computer tower.

- Check your CD-Rom to make sure that there is no disk in there; this can sometimes interfere with the booting up process. If this is a cause you will usually see a message on the screen saying "non-system disk error". Restarting the computer after taking out the disk is the way to fix this problem.

Remember that if none of these are the reasons why your computer won't start, that there are experts out there who can help to repair your computer or at the very least, get your documents back.

With technology marching at an unstoppable rate, most homes today have computers installed but quite often they find they need help dealing with potential issues that arise, like printer help. And these are not the only issues as network problems can also be a major issue. PC security is also a major concern for many.
